Interests & HOBBIES

Going for a run

  • Traveling is important to me – I love exploring cities and small towns, and visiting beaches, mountains, and every- thing in between. England, Bermuda, Colorado, and Maine are some of my favorite places to visit.
  • I’ve always cared about health and wellbeing, and I work out every day. I especially love running, hiking, and yoga, whether alone or with friends. Being active helps me feel centered and happy.
  • I’m definitely not a foodie, but I enjoy cooking simple, healthy meals. Roasted chicken, salmon, and pretty much any green vegetable are my some of my favorites.
  • I think it’s important not to take myself – or life – too seriously. When my family gets together, we love to challenge each other to games of Jenga, Apples to Apples, or some random game that my nephews made up.
  • I love music and nearly always have Pandora or Spotify streaming. There’s nothing quite like a long drive with great music playing and the windows rolled down.

My PETS

HENRY IS MY 1.5-YEAR- OLD RESCUE DOG – he’s an energetic, loyal, and loving Lab mix. He loves attention and my friends and coworkers adore him. COUGAR AND PUMA ARE BROTHER AND SISTER CATS – I rescued them from a local shelter about 7 years ago.

My CAREER

Education has always been incredibly important to me and I love being able to help children learn, grow, and succeed. I started my career as a seventh- and eighth-grade science teacher—my students were amazing and I learned so much from them. I am now one of the senior leaders of a large organization focused on college education. My colleagues are some of the smartest and most interesting people I’ve ever met, and I feel so lucky to have a job that allows me to make a positive difference in the world.

My organization is family-friendly and supportive of families of all shapes and sizes—we understand and value the importance of work-life balance! Many of my coworkers have young children who love to play together, and the entire community will welcome my child with open and loving arms.
